Rosemary L. King (not related to Jeanne King) is a native Atlantan who grew up in New Orleans and returned to Atlanta during her sophomore year in college. She graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Spanish. After traveling in Central and South America, she returned to Atlanta to teach Spanish at the high school level in both private and public schools in the Atlanta area for fifteen years.

A detour in her career lead her to a position with the Atlanta Police Department performing computer research on the Missing and Murdered Children case for two years. From there she worked as an intelligence analyst with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation utilizing her language skills and working on the Missing Children Squad for four years.

Her present position combines all previous experience as a court interpreter in several north Georgia judicial circuits, covering all courts from Juvenile to Superior. In this position she works with perpetrators and victims of family violence and child abuse who do not speak English. She is involved in many cases from the time of arrest or assault until the day they go before the judge and/or jury and then on to sentencing.

In connecting with Dr. King, they realized that they both had a common goal: to help others with what they have learned in the past. Rosemary King's goal now is to help Partners in Prevention realize its dream in helping others to prevent child and spouse abuse.
